What Makes Us Unique
Learning center
We are equipped with resources to address a variety of student learning issues. We have a teacher who pushes into classrooms and assists students, and some children come to the learning center for small groups to support their needs. We also offer speech therapy services for students who need them.
Wildcat Club
Wildcat Club is a great enrichment program for children who need care outside of school hours. Children can come from 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. almost all year round, including during summer, Christmas break, and spring break.
Strong Connection With Local Food Pantry
A core part of our mission is a servant heart. We have a strong connection with the Affton Christian Food Pantry, where we participate in food drives and other service projects.
Counseling
We have two counselors through Lutheran Children and Family Services who support children who need support with personal, family, or school issues such as trouble transitioning. Our two age-specific counselors are able to meet the unique needs of each of our children.
Faith families
We offer chapel once a week on Wednesdays, where students of different grades are combined into small groups of a faith family with a designated teacher. Once a month, the children get to do special activities with their faith families.
One School, One Church
Salem Lutheran School is just across the parking lot from our church. Our Pastor, Vicar, and Music Director are at our school several times a week. On the weekends, classmates see each other at Sunday School and church services. Classes also take an active role in helping with church services once a year by reading and being greeters. We serve children ages 2-8th Grade. This means it can be one stop for the whole family.
