Cancer Support Ministry

Salem provides Cancer Support to help you find encouragement, connection and hope along your cancer journey. Our program is for anyone who is coping with cancer – newly diagnosed, in treatment, post-treatment, survivor, or caregiver. It is our privilege to pray for individuals coping with cancer, and our Cancer Prayer List is a growing document that is shared with members of our Cancer Support Prayer Team, who are dedicated to lifting others in their daily prayers.

We continue to work on finding the best way to share God’s love with those coping with cancer:  by telephone, through in-person group meetings, ZOOM meetings, or one-on-one consultations. Our monthly meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The next IN-PERSON OUTDOOR meeting will take place at Susy’s house on Tuesday, June 27th at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. For more information, please contact Susy Schindler at (314) 352-4454 or email susanschindler@slcas.org.

Monthly meetings, whether in-person or via Zoom begin with a devotion that leads to our topics of discussion, which include:

  • What’s Important
  • Questions
  • Prayer
  • Relationships
  • Healthy Living
  • Faith
  • Healing
  • Stress Reduction
  • Communication

Please note that we do NOT give medical advice. When questions arise concerning your cancer care, we will always urge you to talk to your doctor. We will do what we can to help you educate yourself to make wise personal decisions regarding your own health and well-being.

We are here to love and support you during this difficult time.
