Kindergarten

Mrs. Molly Phelps

We have a wonderful class full of fun, enthusiastic and energetic Kindergarteners!  We are learning the rules of school and how to get along with each other. Music class, Computer class and P.E. are a lot of fun, but we also enjoy Math, Reading, and practicing our handwriting. Most importantly we are learning about God's love for us and how we can share His love with others.

Through Christ we are "INDESTRUCTIBLE"

Ephesians 6:10 – 20

Kindergarten News   9/10/10

During Jesus time this week we learned about Joseph and his brothers.  We discussed how his brothers were jealous, but God worked everything out for the best and Joseph forgave his brothers.  In reading we continued reading and creating ABC books.  We started writing numbers in Math, and we practiced counting to 10 and using positional words.  This week we also began working in our handwriting books.  The Kindergartners love handwriting (so far).  For Science/Social Studies time we continued learning about taking care of the world God gave us.  We discussed the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) and we took recyclables out to the recycling bins.

Next week we will learn about Noah and the flood.  During Reading we will learn about opposites and comparing/contrasting.  We will also begin working on our first sight words, which will be the color words.  In Math we will make designs with pattern blocks, sort by colors, and continue printing numbers.  During Science/Social Studies time we will learn about germs and how they make people sick.  We will emphasize the importance of handwashing.
