For the sixth time in 10 years Salem has the opportunity to make thousands of meals for starving children in Honduras. The event, is “Kids Against Hunger.” Kids Against Hunger (in conjunction with ‘Washington Overseas Mission) is a nonprofit organization with a mission of significantly reducing the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Kids Against Hunger delivers its specially formulated rice-soy casserole to starving children and their families in more than 40 countries. The solution is a revolutionary food package that has been developed by leading food scientists. One package provides six nutritionally-complete servings to feed starving children for just 23 cents per serving. One $50.00 Box = 216 meals. Adults and Youth from our church and school will actually make the food, package the food, date code the food package, place it in a corrugated box, and seal the boxes. In the past, Salem’s meals have fed starving children in Uganda, Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, The Navajo Nation in New Mexico, and St. Louis.
Goal: 50 Boxes of meals ($2,500.00) = 10,800 Meals.
